Volunteer of the Year

2011 APSP Region 3 Volunteer of the Year

Paul Walters

The success of our region is largely dependent upon the generous donation of time and talent performed by our volunteers. APSP Region 3 has established its Volunteer of the Year Award to annually honor one outstanding volunteer who has made a significant impact within the region. Recipients of the Region 3 Volunteer of the Year Award have demonstrated exemplary leadership, consistency, willingness, reliability and spirit.

It is with great honor, that we present the 2011 Volunteer Leadership Award to Mr. Paul Walters.

This year’s volunteer is noteworthy not just for one or two things, but for quite a litany of successes and significant contributions to our associations and our industry.

This person happens to be a member of the APSP Region 3 Advisory Council. His attitude and support have always been top notch.

This person was absolutely instrumental in bringing APSP and IPSSA together to get the Southwest Pool And Spa Show running as a true team effort.

He was also the key instigator that pulled together the right people, to get the once-defunct APSP Austin chapter back up and running again.

We can also give this person credit for starting up the program that voluntarily collects one dollar a month from each participating customer, and distributes that as a donation to a special fund for APEC. In fact, in less than a year, this program has already generated more than $12,000 for APEC!

On top of all the special tasks this volunteer has tackled, he’s also managed to find time to fill the role of Secretary and Past President for the APSP South Texas Chapter, while still covering his full-time job of Regional Manager for Texas and Mexico, for PoolCorp.
