ICC Press Release Says Adoption of ANSI/APSP-7 Brings International Codes in Line with Federal Law
The International Code Council (ICC) has issued a press release about the major issues from the Final Action Hearings in Minneapolis. Adoption of the ANSI/APSP-7 2006 Standard for Suction Entrapment Avoidance is listed as one of the adopted code change proposals that will be “shaping the future.” The ICC release said that the ANSI/APSP-7 standard “brings the I-Codes in line with the Virginia Graeme Baker Federal Pool and Spa Safety Act of 2007.” The ANSI/APSP -7 standard will be incorporated into the body (mandatory) of the 2009 International Building Code and in Appendix G of the 2009 International Residential Code. Both are scheduled for publication in early 2009. View the release.
